Minelab Vanquish Series

Minelab Vanquish
Series

Minelab, technically advanced metal detectors, released a new beginner series detector that includes their Multi IQ technology, Multi IQ simultaneous multi-frequency was made extremely popular with Minelab’s Equinox Series detectors released in 2017.

With Minelab’s Multi-IQ simultaneous multi-frequency technology, it is like having multiple detectors working for you at the same time! Now considering this is Minelab’s lower end mid-range detectors they are basically a turn on and go machine! Now these are not fully waterproof although the coil is, if you are looking for a full waterproof and more professional detector you may want to look into the Minelab 600, or 800 series detectors.

If you are new to the hobby the Minelab Vanquish series will definitely get you going to detect on any terrain anytime. Below is a comparison chart of the Vanquish series models, this will help anyone interested, pick the right detector for their needs and budget!

.The lower end model 340 may not have all the bells and whistles as the higher end 540, but all come with the most important feature of the Vanquish series which is the Multi-IQ technology.

With its versatility in size and being able to compact down, even the younger generation of treasure hunters can make use of the Vanquish Series.  From 2.6lbs-2.8lbs you will be able to swing for longer periods without the fatigue from swinging a heavier detector

The Vanquish series is loaded with features from multiple search modes on each model, to sensitivity levels and depth indicators. The Display is easy to read and the button and interface are easy to navigate.

Depending on which model you get the coil varies in size. The Vanquish 340 and 440 comes with the V10 10”x7” Double-D coil. And the 540 models come with the V12 12”x9” Double-D coil. Also worth noting, all the coils arte compatibale with any of the vanquish series. and are available to purchase at an affordable price as a accessory.

The audio options also vary between the different models, the 340 and 440 have a built-in speaker and the 440 comes with wired 3.5mm (1/8”) headphones and the 540 comes with the built-in speaker, wired 3.5mm (1/8”) headphones, and also has Bluetooth wireless audio function to connect any Bluetooth wireless headphones to your Vanquish 540. To be clear, you can use the bluetooth headphones of your choice but you will not have the low latency that you get with Minelab's WM 08 headphones or aptX Low Latency/Bluetooth Headphones.

Let’s also talk about the battery options this is an important thing we must cover. It is not surprise that most new detectors come with an internal rechargeable battery. The Vanquish series however does not include such a feature. If you are wanting the internal rechargeable battery, I would refer you to look into the Vanquish series big brother the Equinox series. The Vanquish 340 and 440 however come with 4 AA Alkaline non-rechargeable batteries (can be replaced with 4 AA rechargeable batteries). The 540 model comes with the 4 AA NiMH rechargeable batteries and a battery charging station. No doubt the rechargeable batteries will save you some money in the long run I would definitely recommend if you were thinking about the 340 or 440 models to go ahead and pick up some AA NiMH rechargeable batteries and a battery charging station.

All models come with a getting started guide. The 440 and 540 come with a rain cover for the control box, and a skidplate (coil cover), and an armstrap.

All models also have a monochrome LCD display but the 540 model has a monochrome LCD display with a red backlight.

Now for good reason I left this model of the 540 out till now, as I wanted to cover the basic models first, but the Vanquish series has one more model in the series. The Vanquish 540 Pro Pack. Below is a picture of the Pro Pack, but the biggest differences between the standard 540 and the Pro Pack are the Pro Pack includes the wireless Bluetooth headphones, also includes a V8 8”x 5” Double D coil as well as the V12 12”x9” Double-D Coil. And it excludes the wired 3.5mm (1/8”) headphones.  Most definitely a great deal!

That pretty much sums up the Minelab Vanquish series detectors, any of which are great options for any detectorists looking for a turn on and go find the goodies detector, all while making use of Minelab’s cutting edge Multi-IQ technology!
